A New Year
-
Should Christians make a new years resolution?
-
The Bible doesn't say we should or that we shouldn't. But if we want to, we need to look into ourselves and see why? One of the most popular resolutions is exercising and losing weight. 1 Timothy 4:8
-
So if we focus on Godliness, a lot of people set a resolution to read through the whole Bible this upcoming year.
-
No matter our commitment to ourselves, we can do it with God in our corner. Philippians 4:13 John 15:1
-
In this coming year, if you choose to have a resolution: Focus yourself on Christ. Ask God for wisdom. Rely on God.
-
Find an accountability partner. Don't become discouraged by occasional failures. Don't become proud or vain, turn the glory to God. Psalms 37:5-6

1 Timothy 4:8
For the training of the body has limited benefit, but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

Philippians 4:13
I am able to do all things through him[a] who strengthens me.

John 15:1
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.

Psalms 37:5-6
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act,
6 making your righteousness shine like the dawn,
your justice like the noonday.
