3/6 Questions Paul Asks
-
What is the advantages of being circumcised or being Jewish?
-
Circumcision was a sign you belonged to God in these times. Much as in today's world, most people view baptism. But there is so much more to belonging to God.
-
Mankind is always looking for a sign to validate their sense of entitlement.
-
Paul states the advantage is considerable in every way. There are tons of benefits to following God's instructions.
-
Will some people's unfaithfulness nullify God's faithfulness? Paul answers Absolutely Not! God will stay steady regardless of our actions. His promises are not dependent on us. He gives His promises as He sees fit.
-
If our unrighteousness highlights God's righteousness, isn't that a good thing? Absolutely not. Otherwise how will God judge the world? Is His judgment unrighteous?? Of course not. Your bad does not bring God's good. God's good is always there no matter what we do!
-
Let's take the spirit of the law into consideration rather than the letter of the law. God has used and still uses broken and flawed people for His glory! Love one another, that is God's most important commandment.

Bible Passages:

Romans 3:1-8
So what advantage does the Jew have? Or what is the benefit of circumcision? 2 Considerable in every way. First, they were entrusted with the very words of God. 3 What then? If some were unfaithful, will their unfaithfulness nullify God’s faithfulness? 4 Absolutely not! Let God be true, even though everyone is a liar, as it is written:
That you may be justified in your words
and triumph when you judge.[a]
5 But if our unrighteousness highlights[b] God’s righteousness, what are we to say? I am using a human argument:[c] Is God unrighteous to inflict wrath? 6 Absolutely not! Otherwise, how will God judge the world? 7 But if by my lie God’s truth abounds to his glory, why am I also still being judged as a sinner? 8 And why not say, just as some people slanderously claim we say, “Let us do what is evil so that good may come”? Their condemnation is deserved!
