Who's Kingdom are you trying to build?

  • We go through life trying to come up with new ways to make this Christianity thing easier. But in doing so we have a tendency to try to bring God down to our level, rather that trying to live up to His standard.

  • There's only one way to salvation. When we do follow God's direction, His one way, we can achieve a rich relationship with Him. We will have the hope that passes all understanding.

  • Jesus calls us a friend, not a slave. He has told us what the bigger picture is, and the reasoning behind His requests. Rather than I he was our master, we would just receive comands with no explanation.

  • When we have that rich relationship, a few things come from that:

    • Salvation- first off you have to accept Jesus into your heart as your Savior.

    • Prayer- we as Christians naturally want a conversation with our friend.

    • Read the Bible- This is how we truly hear from God!

    • Find a church- we need to pick a group of like minded people to go through this life with. We need each other.

Bible Passage:

Matthew 18:15-20

Restoring a Brother 15 “If your brother sins against you,[f] go tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have won your brother. 16 But if he won’t listen, take one or two others with you, so that by the testimony[g] of two or three witnesses every fact may be established.[h] 17 If he doesn’t pay attention to them, tell the church.[i] If he doesn’t pay attention even to the church, let him be like a Gentile and a tax collector to you. 18 Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will have been bound[j] in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will have been loosed[k] in heaven. 19 Again, truly I tell you, if two of you on earth agree about any matter that you[l] pray for, it will be done for you[m] by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there among them.”

James 1:22

But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

John 15:9-17

9 “As the Father has loved me, I have also loved you. Remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 “I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. 12 “This is my command: Love one another as I have loved you. 13 No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15 I do not call you servants anymore, because a servant doesn’t know what his master[b] is doing. I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have heard from my Father. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give you. 17 “This is what I command you: Love one another.
