Jesus loves you and so do we
Pastor's Sunday Sermon
May 5, 2024
-
The earth never ends. We are here for a brief time in the grand scheme of things. And the world keeps on going regardless of who come and who goes. And we all will.
-
These types of passages are mentioned to be a lament.
-
We may go through epic struggles in our lives. But the sun will set and rise the next day regardless of what we are experiencing.
-
It would all be for naught if we did not have the promise given to us by God!
Ecclesiastes 1:4-8
A generation goes and a generation comes,
but the earth remains forever.
5 The sun rises and the sun sets;
panting, it hurries back to the place
where it rises.
6 Gusting to the south,
turning to the north,
turning, turning, goes the wind,
and the wind returns in its cycles.
7 All the streams flow to the sea,
yet the sea is never full;
to the place where the streams flow,
there they flow again.
8 All things[a] are wearisome,
more than anyone can say.
The eye is not satisfied by seeing
or the ear filled with hearing.
Genesis 3:19
You will eat bread[a] by the sweat of your brow
until you return to the ground,
since you were taken from it.
For you are dust,
and you will return to dust.”
1 Peter 1:24
For
All flesh is like grass,
and all its glory like a flower of the grass.
The grass withers, and the flower falls,
Ezekiel 19:14
Fire has gone out from its main branch[a]
and has devoured its fruit,
so that it no longer has a strong branch,
a scepter for ruling.
This is a lament and should be used as a lament.”
John 3:16
For God loved the world in this way:[a] He gave[b] his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
