Priorities

 

• The distinction between teachers and preachers. All preachers are teachers, but not all teachers are preachers. They both share knowledge and information, but only the preacher is called to be a spiritual guide to their flock.

• Futile means serving no purpose or having no effect. Solomon is pretty much saying what's the point? If we are saying that maybe we have our priorities mixed. We need to have God first, then our families ( spouse then children, then extended), our job to provide for the prior, our ministry, then our church and community.

• It gives us the answer to what the point is. God is the point.

The words of the Teacher,[a] son of David, king in Jerusalem.

2 “Absolute futility,” says the Teacher.
“Absolute futility. Everything is futile.”
