Easter / Resurrection Sunday

  • The Meaning of Easter Annual celebration of Christ's resurrection to life after His crucifixion. Also known as Resurrection Sunday. Easter is derived from the word East, which is where the sunrises, it symbolizes a new day or a new beginning. The secular view is filled with bunnies, chocolate, and a search for brightly colored, dyed, chicken eggs.

  • The true meaning of Easter is to celebrate the fact that the Son of God paid the price for our sin, and rose again, so that we may be reconciled with God. Romans 4:25

  • It shows the power of Christ. Ephesians 1:20-21

  • It gives us the opportunity to receive God's promises. Matthew 5:3-8

  • It allows us to receive the Holy Spirit. Luke 4:18-19

  • It shows God's love for us. John 3:16

  • It shows Jesus' power of rebirth and life. John 14:19

  • The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ means new life!! God loves you so much that He gave His only Son for you!

for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.

The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me

to set free the oppressed,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.[c]
