Rich Relationship (Rich Servant's Heart continued)

  • A rich relationship with God is not what gets you to heaven. All you need is to ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. But a rich relationship helps with your time here on earth. First you need to develop a rich relationship with those around you.

  • The we need to develop a rich servant's heart. Part of this is how you use your gifts. Everyone has gifts given by God.

  • Gifts are meant to be used in love for God, to the betterment of the Church in the world.

  • What are some of these gifts?

    • Discernment, detect or identify people and their intentions.

    • Administration, help steer the Church to God's goals.

    • Apostleship, communications with others.

    • Craftsmen, building physical things.

    • Encouragement, lifting others to be their best.

    • Giving, being able to help others with what they have.

    • Hospitality, welcome others in with good intentions.

    • Knowledge, being book smart with the Bible and other information.

    • Leadership, help positively direct people in line with God's goals, know where to best utilize people's strengths.

    • Production, helping make the message available to more people.

    • Serving others, can be shown in multiple ways.

    • Wisdom, share experiences and knowledge productively.

  • All of these are meant to further the Body of Christ. Look to yourself, identify your gift(s), find where they can be best put to use for God, His people, and His kingdom.

John 13:34-35

“I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Ephesians 4:11-13

And he himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ, 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God’s Son, growing into maturity with a stature measured by Christ’s fullness.

1 Peter 4:10

Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God.
