A Need For Passion

  • We need to continue to live in him. Colossians 2:6

  • To set your hearts on Him Colossians 3:1

  • Let Christ's peace, rule your heart. Let His word dwell within you. Do it all in the name of the Lord. Colossians 3:15-17

  • So what was Jesus passionate about? He is passionate about you. John 3:16

  • He is passionate about saving the sinners of this world. 1 Timothy 1:15

  • So how do we get these same passions?

  • We start with prayer. Prayer gives us opportunities to share Him with others and the ability to speak it clearly. Colossians 4:2-4

  • Pray for the people in the mission field, and these things for them as well. We need to be aware of how we approach and treat those that still need Jesus. Because those are the ones He is passionate about. Colossians 4:5-6

  • If given the chance, Jesus will change us and others for the better. Can you give Jesus that chance in you?

Colossians 4:1-6

Masters, deal with your slaves justly and fairly, since you know that you too have a Master in heaven.

Speaking to God and Others

2 Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving. 3 At the same time, pray also for us that God may open a door to us for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains, 4 so that I may make it known as I should. 5 Act wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the time. 6 Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person.

Colossians 2:6

So then, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to walk in him,

Colossians 3:1

So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Colossians 3:15-17

And let the peace of Christ, to which you were also called in one body, rule your hearts. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell richly among you, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs,[a] singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

John 3:16

For God loved the world in this way:[a] He gave[b] his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

1 Timothy 1:15

This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them.
