Moral dilemmas in our country

  • We need to know why we believe what we believe. You must use the word as a weapon against the enemy.

  • Abortion spans every century and every culture.

  • Before 1973 fetus's were viewed as children not as tissue. This stems from an issue with humanism. Humanism is the view that man is the focal point of all things.

  • In humanism man is not viewed as a creation of God. There are lots of good intentions with this issue. We try to rationalize it as a comfort to an individual.

  • It is un-biblical and illogical. "It's my body" even though the baby is in the body of the mother, it is still the body of the child, with a different genetic code. It is its own entity. If the "my body" argument was true, then why do we have laws against prostitution? "The fetus is not life, it's just tissue" why does this only apply to humans? The unborn cat is a kitten, the unborn horse is a colt.

  • We see an indication of life before birth. "From the moment I was conceived". David talks about his condition as a sinner before birth. There must be a being involved to have sin, objects cannot have sin.

  • "Fetus are not alive" 40 days old, an unborn child exhibit brain waves which is consciousness.

  • There needs to be an absolute truth. Ours is and should be the Lord. The world will be the world, but we are set apart, we need to shun these views when they contradict the Bible.

  • We need to try to bring ourselves up to God's level and stop trying to bring His standards down to us.

  • We as Christians need to know what God's standards are, and we need to strive to move towards them. We need to be willing to love and support women who are in these situations. We need to show them that there is a better way. The church can be as much of the problem as they are of the solution. We need to show love, we need to show forgiveness we need to be compassionate. We need to show them who's we are by how we treat others. Be imitators of Christ. Show the love, no matter how hard it is.
