Message of Hope

  • Faith and hope are closely linked and can become blurred, but they are different.

  • Faith:

    • has a performance to work today

    • comes by hearing the Word of God

    • comes from experience

    • is a gift of a promise

  • Hope:

    • cheers faith along

    • is the fulfillment  of God's promises

    • Biblical hope is confidence and assurance

  1. No hope or hopelessness:

    • We will always find people without hope. Hopelessness is dangerous

  2. False hope or misplaced hope:

    • Can be more dangerous than no hope because first you have to discredit the thing that they have believed for so long and then show them truth.

    • False hope will lead you astray and will abandon you when life gets hard

  3. True hope

    • Jesus Christ is the True Hope

    • He does not abandon in time of need

    • He gives us a peace that surpasses all understanding

  • Where do you place your hope today?

Today's Scriptures

Romans 10:17

So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.

Romans 5:4

endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.

Ephesians 2:11-12

So then, remember that at one time you were Gentiles in the flesh—called “the uncircumcised” by those called “the circumcised,” which is done in the flesh by human hands. 12 At that time you were without Christ, excluded from the citizenship of Israel, and foreigners to the covenants of promise, without hope and without God in the world.

Ecclesiastes 1:18

For with much wisdom is much sorrow;
as knowledge increases, grief increases.

1 Peter 3:15

but in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, ready at any time to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.
